After 100,000 plus plays on Soundcloud and hitting the Beatport top 40, the UK's George Fitzgerald is slated to give "Thinking of You" a proper physical vinyl release. The song is a noir-house late night heater with Detroit style vocals and deep, pulsing synths and a sharp hand clap. If you haven't heard it by now, you don't get out much and probably should.
On the flip, Fitzgerald drops "Nighttide Lover," picking right up where he left off. The track is a peak hour Ibiza anthem that utilizes a transform style flutter to up the impact of the deep soul vocals and incline the breakdown. It's a genuine reflection of Fitzgerald's raw and punchy future house sound that pays proper homage to the music's roots. As a digi-bonus, the cut gets a dub rework that splits the third count of the drums, adds some high hats, layers in a sweeping, bass filled fog horn and accentuates the vocals with a subtle filter. If the night is going later than late, this is what should be played.
This release marks George Fitzgerald's return to his staple Hotflush Recordings, and is a record that deserves its place in the Beatport Top 40. Look for the record in real record shops on May 20th.
