EDM News - Dubstep Is NOT Dead? Skream Clears Things Up

Magnetic Man’s Oliver Jones, aka Skream, was accused of saying, “Dubstep is Dead” in a recent interview with the Daily Star when in fact it was merely the title of the article. Oliver tweeted, “Just to clarify, I never said Dubstep is dead....Pretty pissed off that I've been quoted saying that.” Innocent of the said accusations, he did go on to say that “Dubstep is just a name now. It doesn’t have a meaning anymore and the movement is over. It’s like the end of a relationship, but it’s ended on a high.” Skream further explains that his musical evolution is moving him away from dubstep towards the likes of house, techno, and disco.

There’s nothing that I find more respectful in artists than the inspiration to follow their creative intuition, especially in spite of great success within their comfort zone. Can’t wait to hear what’s next from Skream!
