With some of the best-known radio-hit DJs flocking to Vegas for EDC week, Lavo and Marquee Las Vegas are doing something a little different this year. The party palaces will take a break from their progressive lineup to host Las Vegas Loves Techno, a five-day marathon of beats delivered by the biggest names in the underground.
The Dirtybird team will kick things off with a Thursday takeover, featuring sets from label head Claude von Stroke and mix masters Cajmere, Justin Martin and J Philip. Needing no introduction, Carl Cox will take the decks solo on Friday. Saturday sees John Digweed holding court, followed by Sasha and Dubfire catering to the night owls with a Sunday afterhours set. Marquee Dayclub will wrap the party with Umek and Mark Knight on Monday.
A shakeup for club patrons and a push against the EDC week status quo, Las Vegas Loves Techno provides a much-needed foil to the standard EDM club event model.
