Our friends over at EDMTunes recently published an article on the King of Twitter- Kaskade. The issue? Kandi. For those who are not privy to the timeless culture, Kandi (not CANDY) is a bracelet, cuff, or other piece of homemade jewelry used to represent friendship, love and unity within the EDM Culture. Kandi is a product of the P.L.U.R.R lifestyle- (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect & Responsibility).
As one of the most well-known, universally respected DJ's in the industry, this stand is sure to last longer than on a simple Twitter rant. Here is what EDMTunes had to say about it:
"...The first stop of Kaskades Atmosphere tour in Miami enforced measures that included a ban on candy bracelets or kandi(a term used to describe the myriad of colorful homemade bracelets that are traded amongst concert goers, not actual edible candy). Kandi has become a mark of the electronic dance music community and some attendees really get into it, trading and accumulating the bracelets during the show in true PLUR fashion. Below is a selection of tweets from Kaskade's twitter as he reacts to the news of the items not allowed into the arena for the first stop of his show. You can see why Kaskade is one of the most universally well liked DJs in the industry as he tries to get down to the bottom of the situation."
See what Kaskade has to say personally about the ban on Kandi:
