It is not every week that you get the chance to #TurnUp on a Wednesday. Yet, whenever the name is Diplo is involved I guess anything is possible.
Last night, a private event was held for Jack in the Box at Club Nokia featuring Chromeo and Diplo. The event was called #NoCurfew and it promoted Jack in the Box's newest items, the Munchie Meals.
MAGNETIC RECOMMENDS: 7 Reasons Why DJs Shouldn't Take Their Shirts Off
If you are wondering why your Bands In Camp app did show this event or why you didn't hear about it on the web, well its because only lucky ticket recipients were allowed to attend. With close to 1000 in attendance, Los Angeles and Club Nokia welcomed the duo Chromeo and Diplo to a special engagement.
The production was minimal (strobes were ridiculous though) and the sound was on point. The setting was intimate and personal, it truly represented Los Angeles and the dance scene.
Chromeo took the stage in hipster fashion. One in all black and a gold chain the other in a retro leather studded jacket and some cool shades. The boys performed several tracks making the women lose their breath and fall into their man's arms.
After Chromeo played for about an hour, the atmosphere went from chill to turnt. Diplo took the stage with a roar from the crowd that would make you think he is an LA local. But the Miami DJ came out in a white button down, grey blazer, and a giant smile.
Diplo being the EDM tastemaker that he is, he spun a large range of music including electro house, twerk music, trap and hip hop. He sampled some of his newest songs such as "Biggie Bounce" featuring Travis Porter and even unreleased Skrillex track.
The trendy DJ sampled through artists like GTA, Dillon Francis, gLAdiator, and DJ Snake before I had to throw in my towel. Leaving a little before 1:00 AM the party raged on as if they really had #NoCrufew.
