Voted one of Resident Advisor's top live performers of 2012, Max Cooper has been pushing the bounds of live production for some time now. He recently explained his newest project he's calling the "4D Soundsystem."

The system was created by 4D Sound Group and Bloomfield Systems and consists of a grid of 48 omni-directional speakers over a 16'x16' space which are installed around a room. This allows Cooper to turn the space into a 3 dimensional sound experience. Using Ableton in conjunction with its Max for Live add-on, Cooper can pick an x, y, and z directional value for where he wants his sound to be heard within the space. He describes it as as "halfway between a museum and club experience."
