I can't stand the rain on my window, but when it's raining CATZ 'N DOGZ (AKA the polish DJ duo) I am stoked!

Medusa lounge is one vibey location with stiff drinks and epic interior. The too cool for school kids at ANONYMOUS LOVE ring in the holidays with killer sound and an all star lineup. Myself and disco nymph Samantha Ogle will be hosting the festivities and serving up dance offs all night folks. Jimmy Maheras & bas (Plastic Love) will be giving you beats to be oh so thankful for. Hallelujah and Happy Hanukkah!

Let's boogie.

JIMMY MAHERAS & BAS (Plastic Love/Culprit)

Anonymous Love takes over Medusa Lounge for CATZ n DOGZ!

Catz n Dogz are back with their second full length artist album on mothership & the guys break free from the cage and run wild in a wilderness full of street bass, disco, R&B, deep house, hip-hop and more.

If you don’t know them by now, their full Polish names are Grzegorz and Wojciech but you can call them Greg and Voitek. As DJs you are likely to find them playing disco/deephouse at the small parties they organize frequently in Berlin and Szczecin as well as tech-house and techno at festivals and big clubs all over the world. Back in 2003 they started it all off by organizing a club night in their home town of Szczecin, Poland. This night soon became a residency and their reputation grew quickly. A radio show soon followed allowing them to explore their creativity and gain a legion of fans. Soon after that, they began to produce records together as the techno centric “3 Channels,” eventually evolving into Catz n Dogz - a grooving, category-free mixture of modern music.

Having honed their skills in the techno arena since the early 90's, Grzegorz & Wojciech soon caught the attention of both the esteemed Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird and Poker Flat imprints. Slowly evolving their signature beats into a sumptuous deep house sound that integrates elements of Disco, RnB, Street Bass and hip-hop, they have wasted no time in adding to their already impressive legion of fans. This reinvention has gone on to garner several world tours, a Radio 1 Essential Mix, a 'Body Language' compilation for Get Physical and residencies at some of the worlds most respected clubs, such as Watergate (Berlin), Space & Sankeys (Ibiza) and Fabric (London).

Fast forward to 2013 and the duo show no sign of letting up with collaborations already done and dusted with the likes of Kink, Ben Westbeech & James Yuill before embarking on their current vinyl only project with the ever blossoming Eats Everything. Expect to celebrate our forefathers and kick off your holiday with a late night session that will fuse some Anonymous Love with a bass heavy but groove laden soundtrack.

On black Friday paint the town black, starting with Pattern Bar Sessions!!

As a baby raver in SF, Sammy D was one of the DJs responsible for setting one sweet scene that would forever influence my music taste. (enough to write about it in this here blog ya'll) Friday I shall praise this man on a dance floor once again, only in my new found home. DTLA hot spot pattern bar will be showcasing Sammy and mixing up delish libations to accompany the divine beats.

How bittersweet…

Sammy D has been a fixture in the San Francisco house and techno scene for the past 12 years. From his early days as a resident at the famed house club "The Top", to his production collaborations with Dirtybird Justin Martin, all the way to his massive monthly [KONTROL] parties at the legendary EndUp, Sammy has had a firm hand in helping shape the dance music scene in the Bay Area.

Having already released music under the moniker Justin Martin & Sammy D on such luminary labels such as Derrick Carter's Classic Records, Ben Watt's Buzzin'Fly and Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird, Sammy's new project PillowTalk (alongside production partners Michael Tello and Ryan Williams) is ready to pick up where he left off and move his productions in the natural direction we all knew Sammy was heading.

Having today manned the decks for 18 years, it's his DJ sets that really showcase his style and taste in quality dance music. He has that perfect balance of technicality, patience, and understanding of what to play at the right time. He can really read a crowd, which, coupled with his highly entertaining personality, has made for some of the most unforgettable and legendary sets San Francisco has had the joy of experiencing.

Sammy has played with just about every major DJ in the world through his [KONTROL] and LoveLetters events, but the time has clearly come for him to step out from behind the decks and into the spotlight with his refreshing new productions with PillowTalk. They have have recently been featured on the latest cover of Mixmag and currently were voted #11 on RA’s top live acts in the world. With production’s signed to VisionQuest and a follow up LP’s on the upstart Life and Death, Wolf + Lamb and Kompakt, the future looks bright.

Andrew Rasse AKA Butane is a firm believer that the long hours of studio work keeps a musician grounded, he's produced many EP's, two albums, and countless remixes to date, on highly respected labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Dumb Unit, Foundsound, Alphahouse, Rrygular, Mo's Ferry, and Hallucination Limited. Licensing original tracks to mix compilations such as Matthew Dear’s Fabric mix, Luciano’s HiFi SciFi on Soma and Damian Lazarus’ Get Lost mix shows that his peers in the industry hold his music in high regard.

He is also the sole creative mind behind Alphahouse Records, one of North America's premier underground electronic music labels. His latest label project, recently embarked upon with his long-time friend Sean O'Neal (Someone Else), "Little Helpers", is blazing new ground in the digital music world, supplying tools to creative DJs the world over.

As a DJ, Butane uses vinyl, Traktor Scratch, samplers, outboard effects and whatever new tools are available to craft his sets. Plenty of experience as a headline performer as well as an after-hour favorite enables him to play with an incredible range, and his remarkable sensitivity to the energy of the crowd is the rare trait of a seasoned and perceptive musician. His skilfully developed sets are both classy and elegant, but surely never predictable; thanks to his huge collection of new and old tracks alike, expect anything from seamlessly blended groovy, sexy, peak-time techno to warm, deep, heady house music.

Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his resume as a techno recording artist as producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. With dozens of singles and remixes to his credit, he has also produced full-length albums for Playhouse, Palette, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, Immigrant and A13.

Fueled by an enigmatic nature, DJ Jenö has remained one of San Francisco’s most beloved and sought after DJs for over two decades. Developing a passionate love for music from an early age he spent several years as a punk musician & songwriter, before discovering djing and falling into the vibrant London warehouse party scene of the mid 80s. Once Acid House fever hit the UK, Jenö never looked back, becoming known for his heady Whoosh parties, and his involvement in the early days of the notorious Tonka Sound System.

Inspired by Tonka's cheeky f**k the rules attitude, and in search of a more psychedelic groove, Jenö, along with his British cohorts Garth, Markie & Thomas headed to San Francisco in the early 90s. This was the beginning of the now world renowned Wicked Crew, who were instrumental in firing up the SF dance music scene with their now legendary “Full Moon” parties. These wild & free outdoor gatherings were the foundation for an eclectic and soulful underground dance scene, and the driving force of the growing rave community on the West Coast.

By the mid 90s, Jenö‘s musical talents and commitment to the dance floor had helped inspire and define a new “San Francisco sound,” bringing international attention to the city's burgeoning dance music scene. With all eyes on San Francisco, DMC sought out Jenö’s talents for a mix on their prestigious CD series “United DJs of America.” Joining the ranks of legends Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Little Louie Vega and Doc Martin, he put together a mix of fresh local music and classic house sounds that helped put San Francisco firmly on the dance music map.

In 1995, he and the Wicked Crew took things to the next level, importing a custom made Tony Andrews designed Turbosound system from the UK. With Wicked very much in demand there was nothing else to do but hit the road, piling into a beautifully restored 1947 Grayhound bus with their own band of merry pranksters, delivering their soulful psychedelic sounds with a rock'n'roll attitude that took the U.S by storm. The touring continued through the late 90s, including some unforgettable stops at Burning Man, Reggae on the River, and even a Jane's Addiction concert in 2001.

As the new millennium approached, Jenö took his talents to the studio and began producing his own unique take on dance music. He met all expectations with several remixes on fellow Wicked DJ Garth's Greyhound label, including the internationally acclaimed “Stormy Weather” remix of Rocket’s “People." This was followed by remixes on Cheeky, Turnaround Sound, NRK & others. Jenö’s production talents aren’t limited to the dance floor, having worked on some dark brooding indie music in recent years, and currently producing live acid house for his monthly "Cult of the Acid House" party.

In 2004, Wicked disbanded after 13 years of amazing collaboration. Undeterred Jenö and Garth have kept the spirit alive with their regular Back2Back appearances up and down the West Coast; a fun loving and boundary pushing musical romp through the last 40 years of dance music.

Jenö’s mythical mixing talents have translated far and wide with a diverse international cult following. He has demonstrated these talents on the decks in the premier clubs across the globe, including the legendary Twilo in NYC, The End, Fabric & Ministry of Sound in London, Unit in Tokyo and the Rex Club in Paris. Jenö continues to perform & present music with a unique and psychedelic perspective, djing regularly again across the US, as well as hosting his own musically mischievous cult radio show - Noise from the Void, every Tuesday night at 90hz.org.
