Much to our surprise this year, the Grammys did a decent job with their nominations, escpecially when it came to representing artists in EDM culture. Disclosure and Duke Dumont where two of the biggest 'pretty cool for the Grammys' moments. But the biggest surprise of all was a nomination for the best new artist- producer James Blake.
MAGNETIC RECOMMENDS:Did The Grammys Do It Right?
Blake recently told MTV that he was surprised as well, initially not sure if it was really true after a friend woke him at 4 AM to let him know about the nomination.
Aside from the usual questions about what to do when you get nominated for a Grammy (wardrobe, travel accomodations, etc), Blake is also prepared for what happens if he doesn't win- at least if fellow nominee Kendrick Lamar takes the prize.
Blake says "If Kendrick wins it, I'm not gonna be complaining. I think he deserves that."
What a good sport. Regardless, we're rooting for you James (as much as we dig Kendrick!). Just as long as Sucklemore doesn't win tho . . . we'll be good.
