Her music may often be categorized as bass music, beat music, or occasionally even (cringe) dubstep, but trust coming from someone who happens to be anti Bro-step, Tokimonsta has a chill, eclectic and very dirty vibe that can’t be pigeon-holed into any specific genre. Her R&B/indie infused fresh take on electronic music shines bright with unique collabs with artists such as Kool Keith! As a classically trained pianist and fearless producer this shy Los Angeles native continues to push musical boundaries and even convert “womp-womp” haters like myself with her slick productions and passion for her craft. TOKiMONSTA is notably the first female to join Flying Lotus’ crew/label BRAINFEEDER, which is on the forefront of LA music scene.

TOKiMONSTA tours the world regularly as a live performer at prestigious gigs like SXSW, WMC and beyond. Her performances are engaging as well as intricate—using new technology with pieces of musical and multimedia gear. Quite frankly I’m sick of hearing almost every interview with her describing her physical appearance. As adorable as she may be, her beats are badass and speak volumes. Prepare to be immersed in them when she plays a very special bday set at SPAM N’ EGGS!

Sets by: TOKiMONSTA, LA Riots, Djemba Djemba, Colta, DJ Nobody, and many more special guests!

It’s risky business throwing an event in L.A with so many grandioso gigs to compete with, but this prize party seems to have their vision on lockdown with a superb list of artists and a film noir, speakeasy esthetic. Come hide...

“Borrowing from the mystique of L.A. noire, Risky Vision is a new monthly taking place at a The Echoplex overflowing with sultry house sounds, vice-fueled antics and intoxicating visuals. The night is risky, as was the initial vision of L.A - a desert oasis of infinite pleasures.”
-Courtney Fruit Fly Nichols

Damsels who cause distress. Men who crave orange zest and cigarettes. Our late night, lascivious business belongs in LA’s shadows, the deep sound of the underground. With pistols cocked, deep house / techno / disco are entering the ECHOPLEX for a new monthly affair. LA’s dance scene finally meets its vixen of a venue on January 31st.

No Regular Play are a duo equally at home in the rehearsal rooms of Julliard as in the main room of Fabric. Emotive and unapologetically organic, their fluid approach unites more than a lifetime of influences.

Their impressive live show, which features Paulus’ inimitable trumpet and vocals alongside DeBruyn’s masterful manipulation of the rhythm and soundscapes bridges the gap between the indie arena and the heartbeat of the dancefloor.

Watch their set at Boiler Room Berlin

Greg Paulus and Nick DeBruyn met as 8 year olds growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, bonding over an early mutual love of hip-hop and jazz legends such as A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock.

Paulus performed trumpet at local jazz clubs in his teenage years and went on to study jazz/classical at the Manhattan School of Music. Together they later traveled to Cuba’s Havana to study Afro-Cuban rhythm, music and culture.

No Regular Play became integral to the Wolf + Lamb family when they took up residence in the Marcy building, a melting pot for creative minds. This move allowed a more fluid approach to their productions and new collaborations were formed.

Since then, he has successfully launched his own "Novel Sound" label to great acclaim and in 2012 was asked to compile mix number 63 of the esteemed Fabric compilations. The last 12 months have seen him on resident duties for the likes of Kehakuma @ Space, Ibiza as well as regular trips across the globe to the likes of Fabric, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Rex Club, Warehouse Project and recent tours of Asia and South America.

When other children were playing combat with G.I. Joe action figures in the early 80’s, Detroit native Marcellus “Malik” Pittman was playing his radio at maximum volume, listening to the sounds of “the Wizzard” and the “Electrifying Mojo”, in addition to the jazz outputs of Rosetta Hines.
Malik began his DJ pursuits for college parties, wedding receptions, “old school parties” in the early 90’s. In 1993, Malik released his initial work of production with local Hip-Hop collective “Home Grown”

Marcellus Pittman Unirhythm began his DJ pursuits in the early 90's and shortly thereafter, he released "Essential Selections, Vol. 1" on the Sound Signature label, headed by Theo Parrish.
