While mainstream blogs have been trying to 'take the head off of Mickey Mouse at Disneyland' by posting photos of Daft Punk without helmets, EDM culture got a bit a surprise today as the mysterious Hyperdub producer Burial revealed a selfie and his real name.
Rumors about Burial have been circulating for some time, with James Blake even joking on his BBC radio show that it might be Four Tet. EDM satire site Wunderground also published a piece that "claimed" Burial was actually whistleblower Edward Snowden.

It turns out, Burial is just a guy named Will. He's from the UK and loves his family. Here's the selfie and snippet what Burial said on the Hyperdub website:
Hi this is will, I just want to say thank you to anyone out there who liked my urial tunes & supported me over the years. its really appreciated. Massive thank you anyone who got my records & all producers, DJs, radio stations, labels, shops, writers & journalists.. anyone who played my tunes, gave them a listen, or helped me out with it, made me want to keep going with it. Also shout out anyone who sent me tunes, messages, anyone I met along the way & a big shout out to anyone who supports or does independent & underground music.
He goes on to say he wants to get some more music going , but thinks it might be some time before that happens because Dark Souls 2, a video game, is about to be dropped.
We may now know who he is, but when it comes to music, it looks like we may have to wait. Game on.
