Now here is Rapper Rick Ross suing pseudo EDM duo LMFAO over the lyrics "Everyday I'm shufflin'" from their 2010 single "Party Rock Anthem" claiming that it exploits Ross's lyrics "Everyday I'm hustlin'" from his 2006 single "Hustlin'". The lawsuit reads:
"The use of "Hustlin" in "Party Rock Anthem" is readily apparent, despite the slight change from 'Everyday I'm hustlin'. . . 'to 'Everyday I'm shufflin'. . . " and constitutes, inter alia, the creation of an unauthorized derivative work, [making it] an obvious attempt to capitalize on the fame and success of "Hustlin."
MAGNETIC RECOMMENDS:Fuck............ FUCK NO!
This lawsuit is the second Ross has been involved in recently, the first being with former drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross who claimed that the rapper stole his stage name, image, and likeness in order to market his music. Although Ross won his legal battle with "Freeway", it seems unlikely that he'll come out on top in this one especially considering that he waited four years since the song was released to take legal action against the party rockers.
Dear Rick Ross- chill bud, this is not the biggest rip-off "that we've seen thus far".
