Top 10 Electro/Progressive House Songs Of The Week - New Electronic Music

Get ready for another week of the most explosive Electro and uplifting Progressive tracks. Captivating vocals by Quilla, Cedric Gervais' return to his harder sound, and Deorro experimenting with a lighter sound are all highlights of this week in EDM. We even have one producer's first track ever, "Tomahawk" by Neilien, that earned its way onto the list.

1. "Unless We Forget" Jewelz & Scott Sparks feat. Quilla, Revealed Recordings

German producers Jewelz & Scott Sparks have my undivided attention on this track. Compelling vocals by Quilla, an uplifting progressive melody and well-placed percussion cement this track on my picks of the week. Out now.

2. "Photobomb" Apster, Wall Recordings

Apster is back with a light, uplifting melody that gives way to heavy electro synths that will get any dance floor moving. Out January 20th.

3. "Let's Do It" SL Curtiz, Slammin Muzik

The buildup on this track has a captivating rhythm, sexy vocal drop and a dirty baseline that teases the drop. Looking forward to where SL Curtiz takes things in 2014. Out February 3rd.

4. "The Look" Cedric Gervais, Spinnin' Recordings

After his "Summertime Sadness" stint, Cedric Gervais returns to his harder sound with an addictive electro melody. Out January 31st.

5. "Stomp" D.O.D., Mixmash

D.O.D. has quickly come into the spotlight after releasing several bangers in 2013 under Laidback Luke's mentorship. With heavy-hitting percussion and insane buildups, "Stomp" proves that D.O.D. is going to be a big name in EDM in 2014. Out now.

6. "Skyline" David Heat & Hack N Slash, Glovel Records

This track uses a high-pitched glitchy melody that almost reminds me of Laidback Luke. Definitely adding this to my arsenal at my next EDM show. Out now.

7. "Unspoiled Perfection" Deorro feat. Madeline Jayne & Adrian Delgado, Cr2 Records

Deorro shows his versatility by producing a track that starts out like a softer vocal track and drops into his signature banging sound. I like how the main drop is framed by female and male vocals by Madeleine and Adrian, respectively. Out now.

8. "Ruby" Deniz Koyu, Axtone Records

Deniz brings us his first release of 2014, a driving beat with his signature sound, enchanting melodies and a breakdown that keeps the energy up. Out January 20th.

9. "Troy" Luca Pink vs Toniko, Musical Noize

Italian producers Luca Pink and Toniko seem to tap into their Roman heritage on this big room track, complete with a military drumline and war chants setting up a battle of gladiators. Out January 27th.

10. "Tomahawk" Neilien

This is apparently Neilien's first track ever, and I have to say, there's amazing potential here. The melody has me grooving and I really like how the buildup fluctuates then totally drops out before launching into the main beat. Available for free download via Soundcloud below.
