Thanks to the holidays being over and everyone now back from BPM, the releases have kicked into high gear so expect nothing but top tier house music tunes from here on out! This week, we have releases from labels like MadTech, Urban Recordings, Culprit, Suara and more.
1. “We Turn” Redway, MadTech Records
Kerri Chandler's imprint puts out a well deserved double-sided release by Robbie Redway who goes simply by Redway. Here we feature the first track on the release entitled "We Turn" which is produced by one of house music's rising underground stars, Citizen. "We Turn" is one of those tracks that will completely stand the test of time thanks to an absolutely stunning soulful vocal by Redway that floats perfectly all over Citizen's expertly produced track.
2. “Wanna See You Dance” Cotaya, Urban Recording
"Wanna See You Dance" is the b-side on this excellent minimal release out of Mexico City from an artist that goes by the name of Cotaya. We want to hear more from this artist and/or label because "Wanna See You Dance" sounds like nothing else coming out at the moment.
3. “Midnight Walking” Adriatique featuring Name One, Culprit LA
Hot off the heels of Adriatique's North American January tour including multiple performances at BPM. Adriatique has given us an anthemic track by the name of "Midnight Walking" on Culprit out of LA. This will likely be played throughout the year from WMC to Ibiza and then even onto Robot Heart at Burning Man.
4. “Move On (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Remix)” The Black 80s, Freerange Records
Next up we have the brilliant German duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse remixing the already amazing "Move On" by The Black 80s. Another potential anthem for the year.
5. “Together Like This” Zoo Look, Abstract Culture
Just a little bit of acid mixed with a little bit of deep house goes quite well together as this new release on Abstract Culture can attest to. Out now on vinyl only and coming soon digitally.
6. “Save Ur Soul (ADLN Deeper Mix)” Alan de Laniere, My crazything Records
Lots of great deep & soulful house this week and this one is no exception.
7. “Waiting For” Sonic Future, Suara
Another big track off of Suara out of Barcelona and this one pulls no punches. Sonic Future put out "Move Your Hips" last year on the same label and it was one of the biggest deep house tracks on Beatport for the year. This time they come bigger and harder with "Waiting For" and it has that classic deep house sound with a fierce bassline that is unrelenting.
8. “I Got U” Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones, EMI
Duke Dumont starts off 2014 with a massive one that will surely be a huge hit just as he did with "Need U 100%" early last year.
9. “Planes & Trains” Hot Since 82, Suara
Originally released in 2012, "Planes & Trains" by Hot Since 82 sees a re-release thanks to a new remix package. I thought it would only be fitting to show the original in order to re-introduce this modern dance-floor classic to anyone that has yet to hear it.
10. “Cliche" Will Azada, CGI Records
Rounding off the top 10 in house this week is a tech-house banger that could either fit a techno or house set. Out now only on vinyl through CGI records with no plans on a digital release so get yourself a pair of turntables if you want to play this it in it's full glory.
