DJ SHADOW & MORE/ TEAMSUPREME
THE ECHOPLEX. ECHO PARK
DJ SHADOW X TEAMSUPREME
One balmy So Cal evening, Alpha Pup artists Preston Walker and Great Dane challenged each other to a game: produce a one-minute beat in one hour, using a set BPM and sample from the Notorious B.I.G. Sixty minutes later two new tracks were created, and TeamSupreme was born. Combining playtime and practice, the idea of TeamSupreme soon spread across the flat, freeway-laden land of LA and eventually New York, Colorado and Hawaii.
Mosey on down to Echo park institution, Echoplex to bask in heavenly beats courtesy of NorCal native DJ Shadow! Shadow (born Josh Davis) is widely credited as a key figure in developing the experimental instrumental hip-hop style associated with the London-based Mo' Wax label.

FRIDAY MARCH 14
ALEX OXLEY/ WERK.MUSIC
THE LASH. LOS ANGELES
The Electronic Revolution
Kraftwerk's robotic, repetitive, all-electronic music influenced virtually every synthesizer band that followed in its wake. In the mid-'70s the German group literally invented the man-machine sound and image.
I can’t think of better way to celebrate Kraftwerk's live residency at Walt Disney Concert Hall then by paying homage proper with local lad Alex Oxley, presenting an evening of nonstop music inspired by this influential electronic music band.
Alex will be making you werk on the dance floor to all the classics from the German robots’ extensive back catalog, selected rare edits and remixes, plus Kraftwerk influenced sonic excursions transmitting via techno, hip hop and many other electronic music touchstones in-between.
werk.musik takes place at LA night spot The Lash, with a tip of the hat to Berlin chic it is a more than fitting space for the occasion. So take the Autobahn Downtown, and plug into the Computer World.
As a DJ, record label owner, music publicist, radio presenter and synthesizer enthusiast Alex's unrelenting dedication to electronic music knows no bounds. Driving energy and passion into all he does, werk.musik opens a new chapter in his journey across a decade at the coalface of electronic music.
Peep a mix/interview for Oki Ni ahead of Friday's party.
