Last night, we stumbled upon pumpthebeat & Neighbor Hates Us BANGERS who posted the unofficial full stream of Skrillex's highly anticipated track "Stranger" from the upcoming 'Divergent' soundtrack. Unfortunately, SoundCloud's servers detected the activity and took the link down this morning. But, the soundtrack is available to stream via Pitchfork Advance till tomorrow- March 10th. You can buy it March 11th on iTunes.
"Stranger" is the eleventh track on the album. It features KillaGrahm - one of the members of Milo & Otis - and RnB vocalist Sam Dew who has previously worked with Wale. The track starts off with the ethereal vocals of Sam Dew, tender experimental 808s, which dissolves into a boiling build of looped vocals and drum rolls to emerge as a squeaky moombathon - like drop.
MAGNETIC RECOMMENDS:Ministry Of Sound's Miami Sessions 2014
Over the past couple of weeks, the 'Divergent' soundtrack - the first installment of the adventure / science - fiction film adaptation of the novel trilogy - has had the electronic music blogosphere buzzing like the annoying vibrator sound your iPhone makes when an alarm goes off. With tracks from Gesaffelstein, ODESZA, Ellie Goulding, Chance The Rapper, Skrillex and more - this compilation, by itself, is convincing enough to make us want to go check the film out. That, and Shailene Woodley - such a babe!
The film will be released on March 21st.
