The Australian electronic music scene seems to be having somewhat of a Renaissance. Notable talents like Flume, Wave Racer, LDRU, Hermitude, and Emoh Instead have championed the scene and developed a sound that is unique to their own style. But with the current emerging trends in EDM culture, most seem to think that they if they make music similar to their favorite producers, they too will get to their level immediately. They forget that it takes dedication and originality to stand out. This has raised much debate and discussion. Acts like Wordlife recently did an interview with Stoney Roads where they called out, “the sub-par Flume clones”.
On Monday morning, while perusing through Pilerats’ music blog, we stumbled upon this hilarious parody. An angel dressed in white, speaking with a Flerm accent, took it upon herself to explain to all producers how to get the ‘Strayan Sound/ Australian Sound using Flume and Wave Racer as examples. It’s funny, sarcastic, and cheekily hints at Flume and Wave Racer being unique to the ‘Strayan Sound’. Check it out.
