Top 10 Trap & Bass Chart - April 21st 2014

Taylor Barnes here with my Top 10 Trap & Bass Chart. After this Coachella madness, I think it's time chill out with some downtempo tunes all week. Enjoy this curation of tunes from some up and coming future R&B and future bass artists. I'm sure you'll find a few songs to add to your music library.

1. 2 On (TOKiMONSTA Remix), Tinashe ft Schoolboy Q
Super smooth downtempo remix courtesy of TOKiMONSTA. Schoolboy Q's verse here is an added bonus.

2. Right Here (11thirty Remix), Brandy
11thirty earned a spot on this week's chart thanks to his skillful use of space and harmonies in this melodic future R&B remix.

3. Billboard (Lido Remix), S-Type
Lido adds some trap flair to S-Type's "Billboard" in this remix. One of the few tracks on this weeks chart that isn't downtempo.

4. Flirty, Parkinson White
Experimental, Fly Lo vibes on this brand new track from Parkinson White. The sounds in the intro seem straight out of an old nintendo game.

5. U & No One Else, LION KNGS
Lion Kngs has proven to be an incredible collaborative project between Team Supreme members King Henry and TK Kayembe. This track has an amazing rhythm section, and I love how the piano in the background transitions smoothly from a grand piano sound into a synthesized super saw.

6. Shredder [TS97 Extended Mix], Neo Fresco
"Shredder" is another track that doesn't fit the downtempo vibe of this list, but it's so good that I couldn't possibly omit it. This is an extended mix of Neo Fresco's track "Shredder" which was featured in Team Supreme's 97th Mix in their series of beat cyphers.

7. Tippy-Toeing, Oxossi
Oxossi's "Tippy-Toeing" is a heavy, beat track which features a multitude of strange sounds.

8. Ocean Gang, Milo Mills
"Ocean Gang" is a perfect pastiche of just about every prominent future bass artist. It has Wave Racer's flourishing arpeggios, Trippy Turtle's Jersey Club rhythm and water droplet samples, and Cashmere Cat's re-pitched vocal sounds.

9. Fyi, TroyBoi
I'm not even sure what genre to call this, because it fuses so many different styles together. The sample seems like it belongs in a hip-hop banger, the effects on the lead are more akin to glitch than trap, and the random fills throughout add an experimental feel to this track.

10. Rearview Mirrors, Bleep Bloop
The Nicki Minaj "Spaceship" sample is appropriate here since this track feels like it's from outer space. I love all the crazy sounds in this one, especially the lead that comes in after the drop.
