deadmau5 Talks 'While (1

The new album from Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5, While (1<2), hasn't even been released yet, and he's already talking about another EP- this time called the Seven Virtues.  Last year, he released an EP with songs named after the seven deadly sins.

deadmau5 joined fans in the chatroom of his "suckscription" service today and dropped the news- explaining why he had been absent as of late- he's been secretly working on new music.

The tracks, expected to be called "Castitas", "Caritas", "Temperantia", "Industria", "Patientia", "Benevolentia", and "Humitia", aren't finished yet.  "I still don't know what I'm going to do with them" Zimmerman said later in the chat.

He then touched on While (1<2), deadmau5 new double album due next month, revealing some of the tracks.  Three of the tracks on the Seven Deadly Sins EP "Avataria", "777", and "Gula' will be "spread out across the album, so that [they] fit nicely in the continual listening process" he said in the chat.

He then left the chat to go play video games, in true deadmau5 fashion.

In an official press release surrounding the album, Zimmerman says

It’s a good mix of sh*t I want to do versus sh*t people want to hear or what they would expect. It’s a good balance. It’s not like, ‘Oh, it’s such a departure. He’s doing smooth jazz,’ It was when I was working on some live stuff, setlists for shows and stuff like that, and it just must have been a couple of tracks that sounded pretty good stitched together end to start and I thought, “Well, if I ever do an album or compile this into some kind of album this has got to be that part of the order for that.” And I just kind of took everything and played musical Tetris with it."

The screen shot featured in this post was taken off of the new app that just launched today. deadmau5′ While (1<2) will be available for pre-order on May 20th, 2014 via iTunes here.
