Philly based Mad Decent recording artist DJ Sega (Robert Taylor, Jr.) needs your help. His disabled mother and mute/deaf/mentally challenged uncle have been evicted from a dilapidated building in Philadelphia, located it one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of the city.
Many of you probably first got familiar with DJ Sega at one of the Mad Decent Block Parties over the years. Dude is a monster on the decks, and has refined his production when it comes to making that Baltimore (by way of Philly) club sound. His story is unique- learning to produce without really having his own equipment and eventually catching the attention of the one and only Diplo.
To help move Sega's family in a livable, safe home a Go Fund Me account has been set up with a goal of a modest $1500. At time of publication, they have already reached this amount, but that doesn't mean we still don't need to help out. Any amount above and beyond will only help the security and livelihood of his fam. That way Sega can stay focused on bringing us more of his music.
Donate from a $1 to infinity, everything counts. Sega is also offering rewards for different levels of giving. For just $10, you can download one of his remixes. For $50, you get three remixes, a never before released mix (on CD format), and a special thank you from Sega. For $500- you get all the above and more, plus some time to chill with him next time he's in your city.
Check out the full deal and donate on GoFundMe.com. This isn't some sob story either, it's some fucked up shit that happens to good people- this is our chance to make it right. All funds raised will go directly to his mother and uncle.
At 8 PM Eastern / 5 PM Pacific, Sega will tell his story live on via the GoFundMe.com page.
