Artist Spotlight: Aubergine Machine Release "Hostage" Single Pack

Aubergine MACHINE is the brainchild of producer behind the group, Ian Carey teamed up with vocalist Shanti Ellis. You may recognize Ian from some of his impressive musical history. With 2 multi-platinum, 1 platinum and 2 gold records under his belt, and an MTV Music Video award, he has toured as a DJ in over 60 countries, performing alongside Basement Jaxx, Avicii, Faithless, Diplo, Swedish House Mafia, Empire of the Sun and many others. Now that he has joined forces with Shanti Ellis expect a fresh, experimental new sound with Aubergine MACHINE.

The group resides in Florida and can be considered downtempo, electronica, indie and pop. Often compared to the sound of groups like Massive Attack, Little Dragon, Flume and even Ace of Base. They formed the band in late 2012 after realizing their unique capability to create genre-blending electronic music with pop/mainstream appeal. Having both travelled the world in their own right while picking up many influences along the way, their mental catalog of music includes everything from pre-EDM electronica to the uber-current sounds of post-dubstep and future garage. The new track Hostage is scheduled to drop at the end of June. So look out for that and cop some of their music here first!

"For Hostage we went back to the future and used our favorite 90s trip hop/neo soul influences to produce a fresh, deep, ultramodern song. We really enjoyed working on this one because it felt very natural to leave a little space to make it a little bit dark."
