Get those ears ready for some refreshing new electronic music. We've got some really stimulating, unique sounds this week, including some freshly discovered talent. And breaking the big room mold, we've got a jamming track from deadmau5' upcoming album!
1. "Let the Bass Kick In Miami Bitch" (Lucky Date & Megaphonix Remix) Chuckie & LMFAO, Cr2 Records
Lucky Date is back! Teaming up with Megaphonix, the Oakland-based producer has crafted a glitchy, high-energy electro remix of the Chuckie/LMFAO original. Out now.
2. "Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer" deadmau5, mau5trap Records
Deadmau5 is up to his electronic antics once again, getting ready to release his new album "while(1<2)." This track certainly doesn't fall into the big room house category. Though it keeps a house music structure, there's no big drop here. What hooks my attention is the short melody constantly repeating but slightly shifting throughout, driven forward by periodic crisp drums and racecar drive-bys. Out June 17th.
3. "Hollow" DubVision, Spinnin' Records
DubVision has been getting a lot of press lately, and listening to this track, I know it's for good reason. Smooth, uplifting vocals lead us into a feel-good drop. Out now.
4. "Rock Tha Funky Beatz" Mikro, Insomnified Records
Polish producer Mikro comes at'cha with this funky electro tune. Chopping up Chuck D's famous vocal sample like it's his day job. Out now.
5. "Riffter" Blinders, Spinnin' Records
This progressive track starts out with a refreshing piano melody. A few well-placed electric riffs put you on course for a satisfying and insanely energetic synth line. Out June 23rd.
6. "We Come, We Rave, We Love" Axwell Λ Ingrosso
For the first time since Swedish House Mafia, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso are forming a DJ duo, releasing tracks and performing live together. This is a deep progressive track with android voices sure to get you ready for Governor's Ball - if you're on the East Coast! Available as a free download via the SoundCloud stream below.
7. "Impulse" Aesthetik, Audiophile Live Records
Behold, the 19-year old Canadian producer Aesthetik. This track has some definite Melbourne bounce influence with stimulating vocoded synths! I'm keeping my eye on this guy. Available as a free download via the SoundCloud stream below.
8. "OMG!" TABS, 9G Records
I dig the echoing quality of these heavy electro synths. TABS brings us a fun track with a variety of drums and some playfully manipulated vocal samples. Out June 9th.
9. "About The Drop Out" Joey Dale, Revealed Recordings
Joey Dale is undoubtedly one of the kings of the big room sound. This time, an exotic buildup sets you up for a glitchy but catchy synth line after the drop. Out June 6th.
10. "We're Forever" Laidback Luke & Marc Benjamin, Mixmash Records
Laidback Luke changes it up with a lighter progressive house track. Great vocals add to the uplifting sound. For some reason, when I first heard it I thought of a happy ending to a movie. Out now.
