New Electronic Music - Top Nu-Disco / Indie Dance Chart

Party people, the party has arrived, at least in playlist form. Fresh Top Nu-Disco / Indie Dance comes but once a week from Magnetic Magazine, and this week’s batch is delicious and nutritious. Thematically, I’d say that a lot of these numbers draw on the established influence LCD Soundsystem has imprinted on the disco genre. Also, there’s plenty of amazing production, great songwriting, and a whole lot of romance and drama in these songs chosen just for you. Have fun, get after it, and dance the week away right into the weekend.

1. “Nairobi” Bag Raiders, Modular Recordings
Renowned nu-discoers Bag Raiders are back, and they’re taking us on a sonic vacation to Africa.

2. “Foolish (Joe Goddard Remix)” BLONDE feat. Ryan Ashley
This song oozes sex, and it’s the perfect song to rave and misbehave to. Annie Mac is all about it, so you know I don’t need to tell you how it’s amazing.

3. “Ledonne” Dim Zach, Tropical Heat
The perfect tune to clap your hands to and boogie down, this is definitive nu-disco, so if you had any questions about exactly what the genre is supposed to sound like, this is the standard. Hot, hot, hot!

4. “5 Feet” Nick Monaco, dirtybird
The Crew Love crusader returns to dirtybird with a slick number that’s got what the label is calling a “cool Bootsy-meets-LCD vibe running throughout”. You know what? They’re right.

5. “Sauce” Branx
Funk, funk, funk it up and funk it right now. Anything funky funky, it’s always getting a nod, I will not deny this is infused with electro, but this tune will fit into any nu-disco set and give it that aggressive edge.

6. “Feel Your Love” Le Youth ft. Javeon
A strong piano and amazing singer will always win my heart, maybe that’s the secret to success… Take note, and listen to it work so well in this latest tune from Le Youth.

7. “Take Me There (CASSIMM Remix)” Patrick Podage, Spirit Soul Records
Drama, romance, this nu-disco gem is all sorts of cinematic.

8. “Take It Slow (Com Truise Remix)” Tapioca and the Flea, Red Bull Sound Select
Was not expecting a summery dancey remix from Com Truise, brilliant producer in his own right, and this song is quite the refreshing surprise. He reworks the vocals in a way that strike me as James Murphy-esque…

9. “Feel Your Love” Falqo
Any tune getting an endorsement from Flight Facilities is going to be seriously considered. After consideration, I give my seal of approval to this fun tune from Falqo. Australia just can’t stop putting out the best dance producers in the business it seems...

10. “You’re Not The One (Blood Diamonds Remix)” Sky Ferreira, Capitol Records
The final selection falls into the indie pop genre a bit more, but god damn I couldn’t pass this one up. Blood Diamonds just knows exactly what to do with singers, and he does it so very right.
