So far this summer has lead me on some twists and turns, but without fail the soundtrack has been impeccable thanks to music of otherworldly beauty gracing my hood on the regular. This weekend however, I’m taking my musical journey on the road and up north to embark on some events too sweet to be M.I.A for. First pit stop is where I left my heart, in SF of course, for the infamous “No Pants Party” featuring Oona Dahl on the decks . From there I’ll boogie over to Belden Town for the Sunset Sound System annual campout with people like Soul Clap, Nav Izadi and Pillowtalk playing. Rather than bullshitting about my adventures, here are some disco bread crumbs to lead you to an all time adventure of your own…
WARNING: These sounds and destinations are not designed for the whack of heart or closed of mind individuals.

FRIDAY JULY 25
GIVE IN & MORE/ SLOW MOVES RELEASE PARTY
PATTERN BAR. DTLA
Free night at haute spot Pattern Bar, featuring some friends whose music I’ve REALLLY been feeling lately.
“The response to the relaunch of the RIS Labs imprint with the release of Give In debut solo EP 'Slow Moves' has been nothing short of stellar. His original tracks have been featured on XLR8R and SalaciousSound, whileEric Sharp and Beati Paoli's remixes have popped up at Earmilk and Gotta Dance Dirty respectively. The best is yet to come, look out for some serious goodies from Give In this week.
This Friday we pair up with our good friends at Rollingtuff for a blow-out party at Pattern Bar to celebrate. Don't miss the beginning of a new era for our label. Give In will be DJing/singing and Eric Sharp will be in support along with The Bystanders. Early arrival suggested strongly.”
GIVE IN knows that making dance music often involves more people than most people would guess. You’ve got the producer at the center (with all the ideas, one hopes), then there may be writers, singers, instrumentalists, and engineers all lending their skills to make the track happen. Sounds efficient, but when the song’s echoing through the club later, who are you hearing, really?
That sounds like no fun at all to LA-based producer George Cochrane, AKA Give In, a bonafide obsessive learner. When it comes to music, he seems to prefer to simply get good at everything and do it all himself, the bastard. As a result, George sings like an angel, plays all the instruments, and makes his non-artist living as a sought-after co-writer, mixing engineer, and touring musician in Los Angeles’ exploding creative scene.
ERIC SHARP is about clarity. Combining a conscientious mindset with unshakable musical passion, Sharp has become one of the most accomplished electronic DJ/Producers on the West Coast. Intimate private parties, club nights, and massive festivals are all familiar venues for him, bringing his own style of sophisticated house music: both intelligent and deeply somatic. With his record label Rock It Science Laboratories and his personal productions both garnering support from top DJs and tastemakers, Eric embodies an element of purity in his work. As a vegan for nearly 15 years, a healthy lifestyle has been key in his personal development. Musically, this attitude comes across as a clean, distilled sound that pays homage to the very core of dance music while carving out a polished niche.
“THE BYSTANEDRS was conceived in 2003 by seasoned L.A. deejay and producer, Sean Patrick and in 2013 gained some added help from his talented friends Eric Sharp & George Cochrane.
Sean Patrick's studio time has included work for She Wants Revenge, Kill Hannah, The Greenskeepers, Reverse Commuter, Blakkat & Mount Sims to name a few. He has now began to work on 2 more projects, BEATI PAOLI with Chris Arvan and LOUIS BAKER with Dave Hernandez... as The Bystanders he has collaborated with an array of other musicians and vocalists to create the fully unique sound, including Linda Lamb of Vitalic, Eli Epstein of Photocall and Terryn Westbrook of Reverse Commuter.”
