The Resurrection Of Moonrise Festival: Baltimore's Event Of The Summer

It’s almost time. The return of Moonrise Festival is upon us! Our anxious wait is nearly over, as one of the largest festivals with one of the most stacked lineups for the Mid-Atlantic region is on our horizon. In three weeks, 30,000 music lovers and festival goers alike can expect to experience what is said to be a descendent of the longstanding Starscape Electronic Music Festival. For those of us who have attended Starscape at one time or another during its 14 year run, our expectations are high (those sunrises tho) and Moonrise has the definite ability to fit the bill.

After last year’s disappointing cancellation of the inaugural event, this time promoters have assured that “they’ve taken the proper steps to make sure this goes off without a hitch.”   Its location has moved to Pimlico Race Course, which is known for hosting Virgin Mobile Festivals and the Preakness Stakes. There are slated to be four stages this year, with a diverse variety of genres and artists scheduled to perform. The fact that Kaskade and Bassnectar scored the headlining spots for the weekend set the bar high, and the lineup reveal was definitely worth waiting for. Some of the most prominent names taking the stage include Adventure Club, Carnage, Excision, Infected Mushroom, DJ Snake, Zed’s Dead, Orjan Nilsen, and Sander Van Doorn, but it doesn’t end there as the roster is jam-packed with something for everyone. This is shaping up to be one of those events that you do not want to miss, no matter what. Even the cosmics are aligning for a supermoon to be visible Sunday night. Coincidence? Irony? Get your ticket now so you can experience the madness for yourself.
