Do Text Message Screen Shots Reveal Misogynistic Attitude Of Vegas Club Promoter?
If you're following the triple crown of douchery (Being a bro, tool, and choadler at the same damn time) this year, we might have just found a winner. And surprise! It's a Las Vegas nightclub promoter. Who knew?
Representing Sin City hotspot Hakkasan, this nameless promoter was contacted by a woman looking to plan bachelorette party. In order to be considered for a comp table/bottle, the party planner was asked to send over pictures of all 15 girls.
His response when there was no response?
"We are not going to give comped tables... they $850 a bottle total... to random girls.... Then the whole club would be filled with hippos...That's not what Hakkasan is about."
The promoter continues to hound the woman, sending multiple texts when she is clearly ignoring his requests for photos of her and the party. It almost gets creepy, and to be honest we think most girls would rather deal with a used car salesman with Red Bull breath than this guy.
Diane Tamulavage, who used the text messages as examples in her article "How Not To Promote Your Event", writes:
While I understand that Vegas clubs have a certain image they need to uphold, his aggression and annoying tendencies is similar to that of a stage 5 clinger. Just stop texting back, sir. Do less."
Yeah like way less... how about just stop talking?
Nightclubs using a selective admissions policy based on appearance, and even race, is nothing new (LA venues are infamous for their unspoken racial ratio), but it is rare to see it put in writing- especially with words like "whales" and "hippos".
Yes, those are the words he used to promote the "Number One Nightclub in America".
Cool story, bro....
