Chart: Best Electro/Progressive House Music 2014- Week 37

This summer went out with a bang with tons of new electronic music premiering at Electric Zoo New York, Made In America, Burning Man, and several other festivals across the country. This week's top 10 features many tracks released in recent weeks that make reference to paying tribute to the great summer we just partied and danced through. At #1 is a candidate for one of the best end-of-summer anthems, putting electronic production trio and rock band Brass Knuckles in the spotlight. Following closely behind is Audien's masterful remix of the King of Pop himself and a truly unique electro buzzer by newcomer Rezone. This was a summer I'll never forget!

1. "Water Gun" Brass Knuckles Feat. John Ryan, Ultra Music

I've been rocking this track on repeat for a few weeks now. Indie style vocals give this track soul, and the drop is absolutely hard and infectious. A great track to remember summer by. Out now.

2. "Slave To The Rhythm" (Audien Remix) Michael Jackson, TBD

This is hands down the best Michael Jackson electro remix I've ever heard. Audien starts with a vocal intro that could easily pass for a straight house track. But as the king of pop's vocal energy builds, so do the synths, unleashing a grooving big room drop that masterfully mobilize MJ vocal drops. Out soon.

3. "Moogulator" Rezone, Ones To Watch Records

Here's the answer to the haters that say electro house has lost its creativity. Rezone wields totally unique fuzzy sounding electro synths complete with offbeat marching drums. Out soon.

4. "Pick Up The Pieces" Maor Levi feat. Angela McCluskey, Spinnin' Records

Maor Levi helps keep the big room sound alive with riveting melodies that will make you feel alive again. Angela McCluskey's voice is inspiring, meshing perfectly with the synth leads. Out September 22nd.

5. "Sun In Your Eyes" Michael Brun & Dubvision feat. Tom Cane, Kid Coconut

This is Haitian prodigy Michael Brun's 2nd release on his recently self-founded Kid Coconut record label. It's a strong follow-up to his remix of Max Elto's "Shadow Of The Sun," maintaing Brun's extremely positive and uplifting melodies that are a fitting tribute to how great this summer was. Out now.

6. "Switch" Firebeatz & Schella, Spinnin' Records

This has been one of my favorite recurring electro collab duos since "Dear New York." Their new banger is an impressive mix of funk, hip-hop vocal drops and Firebeatz' insanely high-pitched synths. Out September 22nd.

7. "Dear Life" (Bassjackers Remix) Dannic feat. Bright Lights, Revealed Recordings

Here's an electrifying remix of one of Dannic's recent standout tracks. Preserving the vocals from the original, Bassjackers engineer a drop that ratchets up the insanity. Out now.

8. "Arcadia" (Psyko Punkz Remix) Hardwell & Joey Dale feat. Luciana, Revealed Recordings

Keeping in true with hardstyle's hot hand of electro banger remixes, Psyko Punkz brings us an adrenalized rework of Hardwell and Joey Dale's already riveting "Arcadia." Keep your eyes on Psyko Punkz in this rapidly changing electronic landscape. Out September 15th.

9. "Deja Vu" DVBBS & Joey Dale feat. Delora, Spinnin' Records

Delora's vocals remind me of Gaga's at times, setting us up for a sick electrifying melody. Joey Dale's name is written all over the epic, club-shattering drop that ensues. Out September 19th.

10. "Back 2 Life" Uberjak'd feat. Nuthin' Under A Million, Mixmash Records

Australian producer Uberjak'd has mastered the craft of Melbourne bounce with this new original track. A balanced mix between a vocal intro and a drop fueled by swingy synths and constantly rising energy. Out September 15th.
