Chart: Best House Music - Week 41
After a short end of Summer break, the Magnetic Magazine house chart returns courtesy of yours truly, Danny Kaufman. In this early autumn chart, I bring you nothing but choice, top-tier tunes ready to be banged out at a club near your. The usual suspects such as Local Talk, Exploited, & Ellum are of course all involved and they aren't taking a break anytime soon. Turn it up and enjoy!
1. “So Special” Kyodai, Local Talk
The Spanish duo known as Kyodai return to Local Talk for their first outing of the year on the Swedish imprint. This double sided release features two piano heavy house hitters entitled “Konbanwa” & “So Special. The A-sided cut, “Konbanwa” may be the featured cut on the release but it's the b-side “So Special” that truly is just that.
2. “Cycle” Yotto, SoSure Music
Relatively new London-based house music label SoSure Music brings the heat from a Finnish producer simply known as Yotto. This is driving underground house music at it's finest!
3. “Talking To You (Groove Mix)” Josh Wink, Ovum Recordings
“Talking to You” is probably one of the top tunes of the late Summer but it was only just released yesterday. Both the original and groove mix of “Talking To You” are equally dance-floor fillers but here we pick out the groove mix fittingly here on the house music chart.
4. “Never Know” Light Year, Exploited
Deep, infectious, and whimsical are house music qualities that rarely fit together as nicely as they do here on Light Year's “Never Know”. Out now and on sale exclusively through Beatport.
5. “Stamper Square” Unknown Artist, Bootshonk
This special bootleg by an unnamed artist who's been killing it lately with his Parisian co-members is out now exclusively on vinyl only!
6. “Club" Banku, Basilar
This genre-defying cut is taken from the Split EP courtesy of producers Diarmo & Banku. Out now on vinyl and digitally as well.
7. “Slip Away (Olivier Giacomotto Remix)” Bambook & Mennie Ft Cari Golden, Noir Music
This massive remix by Olivier Giacomotto may have been released 3 weeks ago but it's still causing some serious dance-floor damage all over the globe!
8. “One House” Wax Worx, Suara
What you are about to hear is what Tupac's music could possibly sound like if he were still alive today. The producer known as Wax Worx has created a tech-house monster and he lays Tupac's spoken word all over it. “One House” is taken from the 23rd edition of Suara Showroom which is out now exclusively on Beatport.
9. “Orbis” Shall Ocin, Ellum
If it's not Maceo Plex making the best music on the planet, then it's probably someone on his label. On this Ellum release, Argentina's Shall Ocin steps in and gives us the Atlas EP which features “Orbis as the A-side. “Orbis” is an squelching acid builder that takes the most unexpected turns into distortion and minimalism.
10. “Devil In The Sky" Ange Siddhar & Illan Nicciani, Something Else
Rounding out the first top 10 of the fall is a smooth and soulful cut entitled “Devil In The Sky” by Ange Siddhar & Illan Nicciani taken from the ever reliable garage imprint Something Else!
