Here's How People Got Tickets To Burning Man 2014 After It Was Sold Out
Burning Man 2014 sold out back in February. But somehow, there was an influx of attendees (mainly those in Commodification Camps) that were able to secure tickets after the fact. Commodification Camps are essentially VIP areas with plush accommodations- from lodging to waitstaff, that are usually off limits to the average Burner.
Well, the people at Burners.me are reporting that while Burning Man organizers were refusing to disclose how these extra tickets became available, they have done some research and uncovered documents that reveal the answer.
Essentially, if you were a "Donor" to the Burning Man Project, you were able to buy additional tickets at a surcharge ($250) which is entirely tax deductible- right up until the last minute.
