When you're on drugs you do some funny things- like stopping to smell the flowers. Nothing wrong with that. But the problem is when smelling the flowers turns into full on gardening-- especially when that garden is not yours.
And that's exactly what happened to Chicago's Brian Duffy, as he was 'feeling it' and digging around some flower pots lining the route of the Chicago Marathon taking place this past weekend. Police became suspicious of Duffy, and as they approached he took off. He decided it would be a good idea to run amongst the marathon participants as cover. Pretty quick on his feet, eh?
The "Molly Marathon" lasted anywhere between 2.5 and 10 miles, if you count the loop backs Duffy pulled on the cops. In the end, he was tackled, where the cops found 10 molly capsules in an Altoids container and $531 in cash.
Duffy is charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and reckless conduct for putting marathon runners in danger, according to a police report.
His bail was set at $10,000.
