EDM culture mega-star Calvin Harris has cancelled his performance tonight at MTV's European Music Awards due to illness, according to the award show's Facebook page.
The status update, posted yesterday, reads as follows "Hey #MTVEMA fans – we have some really sad news. Calvin Harris has taken ill and will not be able to perform at tomorrow’s show. He sends his sincere apologies."
According to a reported tweet by Harris, the illness is related to the DJ's heart. No further details have been released.
The MTV EMA's are scheduled to take place this evening in Glasgow, Scotland at the SSE Hydro. The show will be hosted by Nicki Minaj, and feature performances by Alicia Keys, U2, Ed Sheeran, Enrique Iglesias, Kiesza and Royal Blood.
Calvin Harris is up for two awards at this year's show, Best Electronic Act and Best UK and Ireland Act award.
His new album, Motion, was released last week.
