It's one thing to get in a twitter feud with deadmau5 over some silly b.s., but man can he sting when he gets serious. Especially when he calls it like it is and says exactly what everyone else in the room world is thinking. It turns out this beef isn't just limited to EDM culture, as there is a broader controversy deadmau5 addresses - misogyny.
By know you've probably heard that pretty ridiculous "Literally, I Can't" by Play N Skillz, Redfoo, and Lil' Jon. It's pretty much in the same vein as "Shots", "Party Rock Anthem", or "I'm in Miami, Bitch"- lame party music white people listen to so they can think themselves black on a temporary basis.
So now that you saw how bad the "Literally, I Can't (Listen To This Crap)" song is, you have a good point of reference for deadmau5' attack. The song is also under fire for it's blatant misogynistic themes (Sorry Redfoo, this your song is not satire. No, not even if you put a warning label saying that it is).
In reference to the track, deadmau5 tweeted out the following:
Then, Joel takes of the gloves and goes in, getting a response from Redfoo:
And it looks like deadmau5' work is done here as well, as he is getting his obligatorily post from the EDM culture blogosphere.
Happy we could help.
