Inception at Exchange Los Angeles went "Knee Deep" this past Saturday with the beats of Hot Since 82. In support of his new mix album Knee Deep in Sound releasing on November 17th, Hot Since 82 wasted no time getting the dance floor shaking.
This being his second performance in just six months at Exchange, the club was packed full of fans looking to go on a soulful, musical journey through deepest depths of house music. Lines could be seen going around the block with club-goers anxiously waiting dance the night away - and Hot Since 82 was well worth the wait. Instant-classic bangers such as So High - Shadow Child (Hot Since 82 Remix) and Somebody Everybody got the crowd jumping amongst the co2 cannons and lasers. All the while, everyone could be seen singing along and grooving with the man himself as his set progressed into an all-night rager.
After destroying 2013 with tracks like Bigger Than Prince - Green Velvet (Hot Since 82 Remix), Hot Since 82 is showing no signs of slowing down in 2014. His new single "Time Out" further proves his dominance of house music, with ethereal highs and hard-hitting beats. Don't Touch the Alarm has that familiar Hot Since 82 sound we all know and love, adding a slight darkness throughout. Combined with an arsenal of current house chart toppers, and a few unrecognizable (possibly unreleased?) tunes, his set kept the room moving late into the night.
Los Angeles was lucky to be treated once more to arguably one of the best house producers in recent years. While still early in his rise to top, Hot Since 82 is keeping it fresh with his amazing remixes and genuine productions. I think it's suffice to say that Hot Since 82 has established himself as a house music icon, which is refreshing to see in such a short amount of time. If you get a chance to see him in your town, do it - you won't be disappointed.
