It looks like some of EDM culture's biggest stars are sipping in some serious dough in deals with beverage companies. They top out some pretty huge 'pop' starts (no pun intended for you mid-westerners ) as far as dollars earned goes.
It's all in Billboard article called "The Biz of Fizz: How Artists From Taylor Swift to Tiesto Have Raked in Millions With Soda Deals in 2014" which breaks down how much musicians are making with companies like 7-Up and Coca-Cola.
Topping their list is Tiesto who brought in about $30 million from his deal with 7-Up. From Billboard:
In 2014, 7UP doubled down on its lucky number by linking with Tiesto, Ultra, Insomniac and others for its 7x7Up initiative: seven top festivals, seven rising DJs (Danny Avila, Disco Fries, Dzeko & Torres), a few Tiesto TV spots and a release party for his new album.
Pop vocalist Taylor Swift is in the number two spot with $26 million. Avicii takes the number three slot with $20 million for his track with Wyclef Jean for World's Aids Day this December 1st.
The list is bottomed out by Tinashe who is at number four, and Nico and Vinz' Pepsi deal takes the fifth spot.
There is no word yet on how much Dillon Francis made when an unruly fan threw a can of RC Cola at him in New Orleans, but the word on the street that was worth at least $15K...
Anyway, the take away lesson here is we all drink way too much soda.
