Things may not be right in the world and all with Mercury having gone retrograde and LA hitting 80 degrees the other day. However, all is still right with house music because everyone loves it, everyone can dance to it, and of course there are another ten amazing releases this week in the genre. Enjoy the music!
1. “My Love” Shur-I-Kan, anjunadeep
The Anjunabeats sublabel "anjunadeep" seems to have taken on a life of it's own due to the latest meteoric rise of the "deep house" genre. The label has enjoyed a string of critical success from artists like Lane 8, Ashworth, Vincenzo, & now Shur-I-Kan with "My Love". This top track of the week if not the month is a balearic beauty with a UK garage like bass-line and a trance-like euphoric string section that helps it fit like a glove in the ajunadeep camp.
2. “Guru” Dave Angel, Crosstown Rebels
British techno legend Dave Angel steps up to the plate for Crosstown Rebels and the results are magnificent. The a-side "Revelation" is a bouncy minimal workout and the b-side "Guru" as demonstrated here is also a bouncy one that's a bit deeper and more mysterious. This is vinyl only for now so grab it if you can because it's already sold out on Juno.
3. “Play You My Guitar (Dub Version)” Rancido & Kems, Innervisions
The always prolific Innervisions is back after a three month hiatus with a well-rounded EP by Rancido & Kems.
4. “Shine” John Daly, Love Fever
John Daly's "Shine" is a beautifully crafted ten minute epic of balearic nostalgia.
5. “Like That” SEFF, Hot Creations
Floor-filler alert!! Joe Saunders AKA SEFF makes his debut here on Hot Creations and the lead track, "Like That" is a stomping tune with raw synths and punchy drum programming!
6. “1, 2, 3... Fire! (Reboot's Crackling Wood Rework)” Coyu, Suara
Reboot takes on Coyu's "1, 2, 3... Fire!" and he stretches, twists, and warps the tune into a different dimension of tech-house brilliance.
