It has been called "the most important event in Brazil's electronic music scene". The Rio Musical Carnival will take place during one of the biggest parties in world - Rio Carnival - and feature some of the biggest names in EDM along with the "world's largest paint party".
Tiesto, Showtek, Alesso, Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack and many others will be performing. The timing, and vibe, of the music festival overlaps with notorious Rio Carnival from February 13 - 17th.
This music event, the Rio Music Carnival, is the new designation of the closing festival portion of the Rio Music Conference. The conference is the largest electronic music trade show in South America. Along with the new name, the music festival portion will now include the external area of the Marina da Glória. You care about this because there's a suspended "sky bar" floating over the view of Sugarloaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay.
While Tiesto will grace the Fusion stage on February 13th, the real fun starts on the 14th when the Life In Color paint party kicks in. Showtek will be performing and during the show, the audience will apparently be sprayed down in festive (non-toxic) paint. Afrojack hits the scene on the 15th, and Alesso takes on the 16th. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are scheduled to close things down on the 17th.
The event will feature three ticket options for the public: General Admission, Premium (area in front of the stage) and Camarote (prime location, exclusive services and access to all event areas). Tickets are available HERE. Tickets might also be available at the box office at Marina da Glória during the event, if they don't sell out prior.
