Sorry ranch hands, there will be no more prodding with selfie sticks at some major music venues.
"London's O2 arena, O2 Academy Brixton and SSE Wembley Arena are among a string of U.K. venues that have banned the devices on health and safety grounds.” - Billboard report.
So what are we going to do now that we can’t poke and prod our way through crowds like a cattle farmer? Without our go-go-gadget arms, how are we to take epic selfies and sick bootleg video? What kind of a hell have they created?!! Are they expecting us to actually just take in the music, dance and connect with people? I mean, that’s not what we go to these things for, is it?
Finally, maybe those people won’t be ruining it for everyone and bashing our heads with metal poles. Better yet, maybe they’ll realize there’s more to the experience than their tag in their own photo. If you want to take a selfie, that’s all good, but let’s not get ridiculous about it. O2 may have put it best:
"The O2 do not allow selfie sticks into the arena due to safety considerations and so as not to impact the view of other fans. We welcome selfies, but leave the stick at home please.”
We certainly don't condone violence of any kind, but this NSFW gif though...
