This Friday CONTROL at Avalon is on the cusp, with an absolutely stacked lineup of young and upcoming producers; GANZ, Jai Wolf, Vindata and AO Beats. Bringing us our very own SXSW showcase of sorts. LAXC ? (Los Angeles By CONTROL? [working title]).
Headliner of the night GANZ hails from the nether regions of the Netherlands. Young Dutch producer Jordy Saämena studied electronic music at The Conservatory in Haarlem, and takes influences from Hip-Hop, R&B, old soul and big room Dutch House. As a child Jordy took up drumming which has carried through as a stand out element in his current productions.
Jai Wolf exploded out of hometown New York City when Skrillex took notice of his bootleg remix of “Ease My Mind", taking it from a bootleg to an official remix, and placing millions of eyes and ears on Jai Wolf. Fresh off of what is being called one of the most memorable sets of SXSW where he played alongside surprise guest Porter Robinson at the Nest NQ x Moving Castle showcase. We cannot wait to see what south has been raving about.
Los Angeles natives Jared Poythress and Branden Ratcliff are more affectionally known as Vindata. The long description of the duo on their Facebook page states “be shapeless, formless, like water…” which pretty much sums up their position on their genre, or lack thereof a sound which they call “genre bending” fusing together multiple genres fluidly. Stemming from a background of Hip-Hop, R&B and Gospel and pouring it through an electronic filter, creating an extremely unique perspective.
You can barley go out in Los Angeles these days without seeing a flock of Moving Castle x Boogie Made long sleeves, and thats all thanks to AO Beats. The head of the explosive collective Moving Castle which just shut down SXSW (or got shut down by the fire-marshals…whoops…) with their way over capacity aforementioned showcase with the Nest HQ, proving that everyone wants a bite of this tastemaker.
Get yourself in the mood for his set with his blissful remix of Annabel Jones’ “Magnetic” (we may be a little biased in our love for this song, [no the title has nothing to do with it…]).
Get tickets now for this Friday at Avalon so you can brag to all your friends about seeing them last year when they’re all headlining major festivals next year. Tickets here.
