Electric Forest May Break World Record

Electric Forest May Break World Record

Sometimes you just need 11,000 hugs

Electric Forest just keeps getting bigger. But despite the music festival's massive growth, they're keeping their community pretty tight knit. So tightly knit they're attempting to break a world record for the Largest Group Hug. Yes, "treehugger" just got a whole new meaning.

The previous record stands at 10,554 by Bear Hug III at the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Canada on May 7th, 2010. Electric Forest attendance last year over four days was estimated at just over 30,000 people.

Electric Forest sold out in record time this year. In fact, it sold out 3 months earlier than ever before in its 4 year existence. To give you an idea of how fast it was, if you saw the lineup two days after it was posted, you were already too late.

But despite the sell-out, there's is still a way to make it into this year's record-breaking hug.
