There was no way this could be a normal remix. Not with AWE involved. And sure enough, he takes Hermitude's "Through The Roof" to a new place. A place of Latin percussion.
If you're familiar with the original track, you know there's already trumpets involved. But it doesn't take long before AWE shrouds the track in a rolling fog. What emerges is the kind of minimalist, percussive funk fitting of any Jack U set.
The really cool bit comes at the end when AWE lets the Latin percussion linger, revealing the addictive sound you couldn't quite put your finger on earlier.
He might not be as big a name as Skrillex or Diplo, but AWE is continue to make his mark on music. He just put together his own "drift music" crew Swerve Squad and even worked with Alison Wonderland on some impressive tracks for her upcoming album Run due April 7th.
The Hermitude "Through the Roof" AWE Remix will be released as part of a remix EP for the track which drops May 4th.
