Elephante – Flashback (Calvin Harris Cover)
Elephante has the cover game on lock (if you’re familiar we have featured him before)! This time he jumps right into pop EDM territory taking on Calvin Harris’ “Flashback” to deliver something special. He has a bold voice and ambition to match. It is no easy task to live up to Calvin’s original vocals, but Elephante lives up to and raises the stakes a bit further. Fundamentally, this a tremendously successful rework from production to vocal prowess. Now, let us just hope Elephante keeps on singing, it is a damn shame Calvin Harris seldom unleashes those pipes at his live shows!
Bart B More – Fusion
If you have been having a hard week and you need a little crazy, then this song is the ticket. Bart B More takes no prisoners with this high energy work that has disco embellishments and banger tendencies. Yeah, you will definitely need to do some stretching and limber up when you press play on “Fusion”, proceed with caution.
deadmau5 – Some Chords (NEUS Remix)
One of the stronger submissions for the deadmau5 & Dillon Francis “Some Chords” remix contest. This selection is more subdued than the original with less polish, but so much more life. It varies, it glides, it gets down and dirty! Honestly, it feels a bit like a deadmau5 and NERO collaboration, but even then it just feels so unique that the only way to understand it is as a NEUS production! Around the 4:15 mark, things REALLY start doing something with a guitar.
Meaux Green – WHOA
WHOA! Would you like a banger that time travels? With samples that take you on an adventure through the sands of time, Meaux Green flexes his strength with a song that is sure to crush the rave scene. It is big in scope, but refined in execution. The energy is large, but varied from subtle and soft to in your face and appropriately aggressive.
Diveo – Summer Trees
A selection from Ryan Hemsworth’s label that is whimsical and heartfelt. It is cute, but plenty of innovation to knock it in the right direction. That bassline is all sorts of funk perfection if you really want to know how I feel about it. Can you think of a better soundtrack for a beautiful, lackadaisically wonderful Sunday?
Nabilard x Westall – German Girl
Tech house lovers, this is a selection just for you! Nabilard & Westall really have made something wonderfully different in this song titled “German Girl.” The sound is subtle, but the vibe is very alive, and the german girl sample is rather endearing and just fun overall. It is a flirty song, and so a good start to an evening with a bit of softness, but a definite tremendous power lingering underneath and all throughout.
