Greenland is covered with ice and Iceland is very nice". The D2 quote is sadly the first thing that comes to my mind (second is Bjork) when I think of Iceland. But with their Summer Solstice festival getting stronger by the month, it won't be long before I'm associating the country with great music and tons of sun.
FKA Twigs, Wu-Tang, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (DJ set), Skream and Kelis are just a few of several names to be added to the festival which already included Detroit Swindle, Zero 7, FM Belfast, Flight Facilities, MO and more. The new additions have nearly doubled the lineup of the festival.
But the music is hardly the notable part here. The big draw for the festival is the gorgeous environment and 72-Hours of sunlight. Yes, the sun doesn't set for 3-days. Many festivals claim themselves to be unique, but how many can attest to that? This event has given the festival the nickname "Midnight Sun".
