If you've ever been to Las Vegas then you'll know that the time before the strip's neon lights are switched on (a period often known as day time) is a time for some amplified aquatic fun. Although there are plenty of gambling opportunities available throughout the day (or the night for that matter), there are few better ways to experience the thrills of Sin City than one of its many pool parties.
Taking place at various locations up and down the strip, pool parties give Vegas revelers a chance to listen to the world's top DJs while prancing around in their finest swimwear. Of course, where you choose to flaunt your body and throw some shapes will be dependent on a number of factors. Cost, venue, facilities and, importantly, the headlining DJ, will also influence your decision. However, we're here to help nudge you in the right direction with a few suggestions.
Hopefully our list of leading pool parties should give you some inspiration before you jet off to the land of sun, slots and sick tunes.
Foxtail Pool Club
Signature Anthem: Fedde Le Grand - You Got This
For something a little bit special in Las Vegas, the Foxtail Pool Club is a must. If you're a fan of top DJs and want to hear the latest mixes, then SLS Las Vegas is the place to go. From Fedde Le Grand and Bynon to Method Man and Redman, the Foxtail Club's events are among the best Sin City has to offer. For those that enjoy their beats with a drop of sunshine, the day club offers drinks and catering for up to 2,000 revellers all within a luxury pool deck that catches the sun all day.
One of the nice things about Foxtail is that its bar is situated in the middle of the pool area. Offering a 360 degree serving space means that having to wait for a drink isn't an issue, even at peak times. Of course, as with all high-end pool parties, cabana service is available which means waitresses will be on hand to serve you drinks and food while the like of Le Grande and Method Man do their thing on the decks.
Encore Beach Club at the Wynn
Signature Anthem: David Guetta - Delirious
The Wynn is without doubt one of the finest hotel and casinos in Las Vegas and its Beach Club is the perfect place to party and gamble at the same time. During each session you'll find you can dance to the tunes of top DJs, including David Guetta, before having a cheeky try of your luck at the gaming tables. Although you will need to dry off before you ante-up at the blackjack table, this venue gives you the chance to earn while you twerk.
Of course, if you are planning on mixing your entertainment, then you need to make sure you're prepared. One of the biggest mistakes you can make as an amateur is to gamble without practicing first. Fortunately, most online casinos allow you to practice games such as blackjack for free. Worth honing your skills though in blackjack, and when you’re done the only thing left to do is down a few drinks while Guetta drops some beats.
Marquee Day Club at the Cosmopolitan
Signature Anthem: Benny Benassi - Illusion
One of the newest hotel and casinos in Las Vegas, the Cosmopolitan has a fantastic mix of gaming options and club nights for patrons of all persuasions. However, by far one of the most famous events for the canny reveller is the Marquee Day Club.
Set inside a 60,000 square foot rooftop complex, this pool party is as pleasing on the eye as it is on the ear. In fact, as you're gazing out across the strip, you could be listening to the best tunes from the likes of Benny Benassi, Porter Robinson and Andrew Rayel. Once you've finished in the day club, you'll have just enough time to head out on to the casino floor for a few spins of the roulette wheel before the next set of decks begin to turn inside Marquee Nightclub.
Liquid at the Aria
Signature Anthem: Scooter & Lavelle - Shots
Somewhat more secluded and intimate than other Vegas pools parties, the Liquid Pool Lounge is a mixture of chic cabanas and slick electro beats. For those that like their day parties with a little more class, Liquid is the obvious choice, especially with the likes of Lavelle, Scooter and DJ Que. While you won't be as close to the casino floor as some pool parties, the Aria does make up for it by having a world-class chef on standby throughout the day to serve some snacks while you party like a celebrity.
Wet Republic at the MGM Grand
Signature Anthem: Steve Aoki - Darker than Blood
Arguably one of the best known pool parties in the world, Wet Republic has become synonymous with excess over the last few years. Aside from having a large pool and plenty of private cabanas, this event is hosted by the most famous DJs in the world, including Steve Aoki. As much of a poker player and casino fan as he is a DJ, Aoki has made Vegas his home in recently years and that shows whenever he performs at the MGM Grand.
Always picking the perfect track to keep the crowd buzzing, Aoki creates a vibe like few others can. In fact, if there's one reason why this pool party stands out above the crowd, it's the calibre of DJs. Pulled along by the headline acts, such as Aoki, the party's undercard is always filled with solid talent and emerging stars. If you're in Vegas and only visit one pool party, Wet Republic should probably be it.
