Aspiring producers, this one is for you. Monstercat recently announced that alongside Splice, the cloud based platform that allows you to share stems, create music, and collaborate, they will be hosting a major remix contest for "The Girl" from Hellberg.
The Stockholm based producer has rapidly been picking up a strong following with his heavily melodic sound, with this standout from his This Is Me EP leaning towards a progressive house influence with anthemic drops and luscious vocals from Cozi Zuehlsdorff.
Now he has given other upcoming producers the chance to try their hand at the track, offering up the stems for the general public to download. What stands out from this platform is the ability to listen to "The Girl" on Splice while viewing each individual stem.
It's interesting seeing the bones of the track, as opposed to the single file we are used to seeing on sites like Soundcloud and Beatport. Beyond that, we also get comments from Hellberg on different stems explaining how they came about, what makes certain dynamics important, and even what plug-ins he used.
The grand prize winner will receive a Native Instruments Komplete and Kontrol package, as well as an official Monstercat release and course enrollment in the Point Blank Mixing and Mastering Program. A Community Prize, or remix with the most votes, will also be awarded, including an iZotope Creative Bundle as well as a Merchandise Bundle provided by Monstercat.
Head over to Splice now to enter the remix contest, and we wish you all the best of luck.
