In 1980, Paul McCartney released a synth-driven album by the name McCartney II. This time frame marked the start of a new revolution of dance music, and the former Beatles member clearly felt inspired by this movement. On that release was a song called "Temporary Secretary," initially flopping but gaining momentum over the years as a cult classic with its techno inspired presence.
Last night in O2 London, McCartney surprised the audience by digging deep into his musical crate and performing the song for the first time ever. We're not sure why he chose last night to bust this out, but maybe McCartney has been seeking more inspiration from the genre and felt like getting nostalgic.
You can view the video of the performance last night below, along with a recording of the original below that. McCartney has already worked with The Bloody Beetroots and Kanye West, so maybe there are more out of the box collaborations on the way.
