Steve Angello bio

House producer Steve Angello is the founder of Size Records and a member of the group Swedish House Mafia. Born Steve Josefsson Fragogiannis in Athens, Greece to a Greek father and a Swedish mother, he grew up and is based in Stockholm. As a small boy Steve was introduced to the wonders and delights of the Athen’s club culture and underworld in which his father moved. Deeply enthused by all of this and, as it emerged, incredibly talented, Steve quickly honed his turntablism skills and won his first club residency in Stockholm. He started out as a Turntablist, fusing hip-hop, breakbeats and 1970s classics but later moved onto House music, in the club life of Stockholm, together with his best friend Sebastian Ingrosso. Steve Angello's productions can mainly be classified as house (Summer Noize), progressive (Yeah), Tech house (Partouze) and electro house (Raining Again). His claim to fame came when he released his remix of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" in late 2004. Since then he has exploded onto the house music scene. In 2007 his eternal club banger, a remix of Robin S "Show Me Love" was released on Data Records. Angello is also the founder of Size Records and a member of the group Swedish House Mafia. He inaugurated the label with the self-billed Simplicity EP. Subsequent releases were also produced by Angello, though often under monikers such as the Sinners, General Moders, and Who's Who? -- the former two also comprised of Sebastian Ingrosso. Other releases would feature producers such as Luke van Scheppingen (aka Laidback Luke) and Chinedum Nwosu (Innersphere). Also in 2003, Angello released a full-length solo debut album, Tracks, on the German label Konvex|Konkav. He has produced with Eric Prydz under the name A&P Project. Also, he has created a track with his friend Axwell under the name Supermongo, later renamed Supermode. They made a cover of an old Bronski Beat track, calling it "Tell Me Why." This was released via Ministry of Sound's Data Records imprint in summer 2006. He is equally famous for the track with Alex Metric "Open your Eyes," a Fifa 12 track that was very successful. Under Swedish House Mafia, Angello has produced massive hits such as "Save the World," "Antidote," "Greyhound," "One," "Miami 2 Ibiza," and "Don't You Worry Child" to name a few.
