Devastating news from Spring Awakening this weekend. The electronic festival in Chicago held at Soldier Field ended a 3-day stint last night, but unfortunately not before tragedy struck around 11 PM on Saturday night. According to ABC Chicago, investigators found the body of a 19-year-old male by the name of Steve Vongkoth outside of the music festival in the 1400-block of Museum Campus Drive.
The Chicago resident was immediately rushed to Mercy Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:52 AM on Sunday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Chicago police suspect the death was drug related, but we have yet to hear any specific claims to back that up.
We heard about a 19-year-old female overdosing at a Flume concert at The Echostage in Washington D.C just last week, and now tragedy has struck again. We send our condolences to the family and friends of Steve Vongkoth, and will keep you updated as the story develops.
