The Grand Artique Teamsters
You know what to pack, you know who to see and you’ve read the survival guides. But that will only take you so far. In order to fully experience Electric Forest, you must challenge yourself to go beyond the beaten path.
It'll be easy to be blinded by the beauty of everything when you arrive, but fear not. We've discovered 10 specific things you can do that will help you become one with the Forest. These are 10 things that go beyond the lineup and beyond the map. They might be a challenge, but they're well worth those Forester feels.
The only question is, are you Forester enough to complete all ten?
1. Bring canned food
Embrace the giving spirit and give back to the Rothbury community. If you’re one of the first 1,500 people to donate 20 non-ramen canned goods, you’ll get a rad poster too. Details here.

2. Wander the Forest on DAY ONE
Forget your lineup and map for a while and explore. Do this for at least an hour. It won’t be long enough, but it’ll be a start. If you wait too long, you'll miss out on some amazing moments later.
3. Silent disco with someone on different channels
It’s important to embrace each other’s differences. Go to the silent disco with someone and turn to different audio channels. Then let the dancing begin.
4. Create something
Represent the creative energy through your own art. During your Forest stroll you're bound to find the arts and crafts area.
5. Hug 14,000 people at once
Check out the Sherwood Court area at 2:30pm Friday as up to 14,000 Foresters attempt to break the world record for Group Hug.
6. Take a picture with Mayor Thornbush
Is he a time traveler? No one knows for sure. Get yourself to The Grand Artique and ask for W.C. Thornbush. He'll be expecting you.
7. See an artist you've never heard or heard of
Did you know about the "other" lineup? Check out The Grand Artique for independently curated artists. You can also check out Discovery Project winners Moon Frong, GeoVybe, Night Movers and Solstis. If that's not enough, there are more artists to be discovered in our list of 5 Electric Forest Artists You Can't Define. No listening to them before you go to their show though!
8. Compliment a stranger
You're a really good reader!
9. Find a secret set
One of the most elusive but sacred moments at Electric Forest. The secret set. These are impromptu, unlisted shows by main artists on small stages. One year Passion Pit threw down at the Silent Disco and you never know who might show up at The Grand Artique...
