The ‘Monday after a festival’ essentials / Written In Association with Just Eat UK
Anyone who has been to a festival before will be able to testify, the following Monday is rough, really rough. After three days of partying, recovery mode kicks in. Below are some essential tips for getting through a post-festival Monday.
A Quick Getaway, Real Quick...
Don't dawdle, not to sound like a gran but when leaving the festival it is imperative that you get up fairly early to avoid the "walking dead" scenario that might await you. Pack up that gear like your life depended on it because being caught in a queue to go home in your sorry state is NOT great. Chances are if you are in your car by 10 a.m. you can avoid the hangover apocalypse and beat the traffic.
Lots Of Food
It is more than probable that you haven’t eaten much over the course of the weekend. Refilling your stomach with some much-missed food is a sure fire way to get some colour back in your cheeks. Make sure to pull into the first service station you see. If you have beaten the traffic then it should be empty - see above.
However, a bite to eat in a service station is not going to cure your festival hangover. You will need at least one more takeaway in the evening. But it is Monday so who cares? A nice, steaming hot pizza from JUST EAT is the perfect comfort food to quench your post-festival cravings. Moreover, in this month of June, the good people at JUST EAT can give you another cure to your Monday comedown in the form of free food! All customers who order on one of June’s five Mondays are in with a shout of winning their meal for free, which is probably the first #minifistpump moment you would have had since the previous night’s headliner.
Read A Newspaper
By Ns Newsflash
For those who don’t take their smartphones - kudos - you will be a bit behind on the news. Get yourself a newspaper and brush up. If you go to Reading and Leeds festival it is imperative that you get one as the festival falls over the August Bank Holiday. And so does the football transfer window. You don’t want to arrive home to find from your mum that Manchester United have signed Raheem Sterling.
Catch Up On The Highlights

Despite wishing you were at home for the whole journey back, the second you sit down on your sofa you just wish you were back at the festival. Sadly, that won’t be happening for another year. But instead of going into an even gloomier Monday stupor, open your laptop and watch the highlights from the weekend just gone. Although it isn’t as good as the real thing it still stirs up welcomed joyous emotions.
This should need no explaining.
Book Tuesday Off
By Identity Phtogr@phy
You would have to be a festival novice to think that you wouldn’t need anything other than the Monday off. Traveling is done on Monday, re-humanizing yourself takes place on Tuesday.
