Last night at Governors Ball in New York, deadmau5 finally got the chance to debut his "crazy stage for a crazy festival run." The cube setup has become a staple of his sets for years, but now Joel is looking towards the future and has busted out more of a dome setup. This brings a fresh aspect to his always entertaining performances, and shows just how innovative deadmau5 and his team really are.
Although the performance did have some technical difficulties which led to frustration over Twitter from Joel, he clearly handled the situation well and complimented the Governors Ball crew for making a speedy recovery and getting things back on track. Ryan Adams also called out deadmau5 for his music, which was apparently bleeding over into his set.
According to Spin, Adams stated “This song is not going to match the robot music over there… It’s like we’re living in a f—king Terminator nightmare!” Joel also shrugged this one off too, and continued to call Adams a cool dude and then speak more on how amazing his own performance later at Verboten was.
You can view some of the tweets, pictures, and videos below, including a special B2B set from deadmau5 and mau5trap secret weapon Attlas. This was his first performance, and we are very excited for more.
