It seems as though Drum & Bass is making a comeback in LA. Just a few weeks ago Spor (Feed Me's secondary alias) shook Avalon to its base at his highly anticipated show. Drum & Bass / Jungle is a niche genre born out that has done a pretty good job of secluding itself from the full impact of the pop culture EDM craze. Often times D&B is not performed in major clubs around the US, and reserved for more bass heavy and underground establishments. Avalon Hollywood and CONTROL seem to be attempting to change that by embracing more and more Drum n Bass acts and we could not be happier.
On Friday, legendary LA Drum & Bass crew Respect will be taking over CONTROL at Avalon. The Respect team is responsible for the longest running Drum & Bass weekly in Los Angeles, a group that has been bringing high intensity heavy hitting bass music to Los Angeles for over 16 years (longer than some of your favorite DJs have been walking). Representing the Respect crew on stage will be Drumsound & Bassline Smith with support from Tantrum Desire, Adam F, and Kronology.
Get in the mood with Drumsound & Bassline Smith's track below Spring Heel Jack. Hot off of the 15 Years of Technique album, a compilation of tracks celebrating 15 years since Future Tech (aka Drumsound & Bassline Smith) established Technique Recordings. The LP features songs from Drumsound & Bassline Smith, L Plus, Erb n Dub, Skope, Document One, Spectrem, MaxNRG, Kronology, Infrasonik, Tantrum Desire, Trei, 2dB and Crissy Criss.
